5/1/19, 1100am. Columbus, OH. This morning, MedFlight was requested by local public service agencies to respond to a multi-victim vehicle incident on Maysville Pike in Muskingum County. Both MedFlight 4 and MedFlight 6 (based in Coshocton and McConnelsville, respectively) responded promptly and landed safely.
Upon departure from the scene to begin patient transport, MedFlight 6 experienced a reported blade strike with tree limbs. The team immediately re-landed safely on-scene and our communications center activated MedFlight’s precautionary landing response plan.
An aviation mechanic is enroute to inspect the aircraft before determining next steps. Residents in the area may experience traffic delays on this road while we complete this safety check.
The flight team is safe and appreciate your concern and support, as do us all at MedFlight. Other flight teams were assigned to safely complete each requested air transport.
When available, more details will be released as an update to this post.
